Matching Birthday Tunics

While on a one night getaway with my husband, last June, we came across a quilt shop and decided to check it out. I cannot remember the name of the shop, but it was in Midway, UT. I fell in love with this Riley Blake ice cream fabric. I also found this adorable coral checkered print cotton to contrast with the light blue of the ice cream fabric. I did a simple pattern draft of the tunics, empire waist bodice, and gathered rectangle skirts. The tunics are fastened with a loop and button in the back at the neck. I really wanted to make the girls these tunics for Maggie's first birthday party. It was Ice Cream themed, so the fabrics worked out perfectly. We offered Chocolate Ice Cream Sodas, Ice Cream Sundaes, and a scoop of Ice Cream in a colorful Cone. The dresses and the party were both a success!
