Gift Idea #5: Pretty Clutch Tutorial

I am excited to tell you that I created my own clutch pattern off the top of my head. I am so very proud of myself and the best part is, is that it is SUPER easy. So here we go, follow along now. Click "read more"

Items needed for Gathered Clutch Tutorial:
1 piece of outer fabric measuring 12 X 12
1 piece of inner complimenting or contrasting fabric measuring 12X12
1 piece of interfacing measuring 10X10
1 zipper

Cut your fabric 12X12

Iron interfacing on inner fabric of the wrong side according to directions. Place right sides of both fabric facing and sew side seams together.

Turn right side out and continue to iron the other fabric to interfacing. Take fabric at un-sewn ends and pinch it so you have little pleats on the outside of the unfinished clutch. Do this on both ends.

Place zipper face down and pin on top of outer fabric.
Use a zipper foot to sew zipper on. You don't have to use a zipper foot, but from experience it is much easier. Okay, now repeat on the other side.

Then fold in half, hot dog style. Inner fabric facing out. Sew side seams together.
Turn right side out, and zip close. You have yourself a new clutch!

Very nice! How about designing an iPhone holding clutch for evening wear. You're a great designer and I would love to have one for all my friends.
